New Lester Young transcription
Dave Barrows has posted a new Lester Young transcription. The transcription was originally made by Hal Stein, who was Dave’s teacher back in the day. Hal had transcribed a number of Lester solos, and gave Dave a cassette containing the audio recordings, plus handwritten transcriptions. Dave has had a dream to put these into a modern music notation program, and dump the audio files to MP3. He has begun doing that as of mid-2016. This is the first of what will hopefully be a number of these transcriptions. Dave has posted the first one, “Somebody Loves Me”, on his tribute page to his teacher Hal Stein.
